Main features

The Antwerps Sportpaleis

The Sport Palace in the Belgian city of Antwerp is a multifunctional event hall where various events are organized, such as concerts, sports meetings, parties and fairs. The building is located in the district of Merksem on the border with the Deurne district, aside from the Antwerp ring. Originally, the building was intended for sports matches (especially track cycling), but they currently have little place.

The sports palace is now famous for major performances by national and international artists. Since 1985, the classical concert series of the Night of the Proms takes place every year. Other well-known events at the Sport Palace are Reverze, Nekkanacht and the Pop Poll De Luxe van Humo. In the past, we organized the ECC tournament, a tennis tournament for men. Until 2008, Proximus Diamond Games took place every year in February, a tennis tournament for women. After a break of six years, the WTA Tournament of Antwerp took place once again in 2015, organized by Vedette Kim Clijsters.

Just next to the Sport Palace is the Lotto Arena, an event hall that seats around 5000 spectators. The hall has been in use since March 2007 and serves as a supplement to the main building of the Sport Palace. Among other things, the basketball team Antwerp Giants is playing home matches here
